It comes down to economics! Minuettes maybe £60 each. You want to spend time and maybe £20 on repairing your old lights which you could get £50 each on the refurb market In fact I think the fact the lamp filament for a minuette is so much smaller than the 123 the actual area lit is about the same. I think that was a design requirement way back. There comes a point where you have to move on, even if to something not so old!
