  1. Yous should talk to Eddie Stephens as we have been running rechargeables for some years!
  2. Thanks for all the replies. I think we are looking at a swap for a B grade. A fixed price makes more sense Nick
  3. One of my theatres has a pack that is no longer is actually radiating although the pack telemetry says it is . Doent work with more than one receiver. If I fail to get it work I was planning to trade it in for a cost, but I am not sure Sennheiser still do this?
  4. I cant remember what exactly I paid with import duty but I think it worked out at about £100 each all up. I bought these in black. They came in sets of four in handy carry bags
  5. I bought eight from China direct via Alibaba and very please with them. The cost about £100 each so fit your budget
  6. I thought it would be something like that . Probably better I sell it to someone with the correct licence! Thanks for the comprehensive answer.
  7. Although most of my kit is Sennheiser G3 sets of radiomics I have also got channel 70 stuff as a back up for higher numbers required on a job. I just bought used G2 beltpack which is marked 833-866Mhz but on powerup is 518-554Mhz with no means of tuning outside that. It was a cheapish Ebay purchase from a seller of lots of things. Is it possible a previous owner has recycled a case and therefore its actually a Band A device? Is the re any way of tuning higher?
  8. Thanks for the suggestions chaps. I assume if its marked 240v then putting that across the coil should do something? It doesnt, that why I am thinking its possibply the pump rather than the control side?
  9. I first looked at the problem during lockdown but now I am up and running again I though I would revisit the problem. I think I have narrowed the problem down to the fluid pump not working. Its possible its seized up. Having taken it apart I actually think the coil might have failed, not sure thoughA replacement pump, model is SP-35a (m24050) List price seems to be maybe £80. Does anyone know of a cheap replacement. I think they are used in many devices ie Chauvet
  10. Basically the unit is losing registration , sometime on startup and sometimes part way through a show. Restarting usually gets it running right. I imagine its a detector that is intermittently not read correctly. Any ideas please?
  11. I have another issue now, but I thought I would belatedly update on this issue. It turned out the LED engine had failed. The Chinese manufacturer sent a replacement engine and it proved pretty easy to replace and all was fine, although I am really only now getting the kit in use again. Hopefully it will be okay now! I am about to start another thread on a different matter.
  12. I am sure I used these for the last panto before lockdown with now problems. This year it seems to me a bit DMX in orientated. Ie no lead in it sits fine. Plug in a lead with a termination and it occasionally farts smoke. It’s just smoke , no illumination. Going onTims last comments I wonder if the feed pipe in one is slightly differently positioned so drips are leaking onto the heater. I am not totally involved with this show as I have my own panto to contend with. Trying to help sort though
  13. Sorry for delayed reply. Something like a 5m, a 10m and one to the back of the hall , which is maybe a long 30m
  14. Until I had to think about sourcing some robotics for a show, I had nor realised they had been in financial trouble. Now most of their listed distributers dont any more. Stage Electrics hope for a delivery in ten days which is very very borderline. Does anyone know of a stock already held anywhere?
  15. I have been donated some prewired barrels and I would like to modify them and use in my theatre. I think the cheapest way to do it is to recycle some soca cable that maybe is in a pile somewhere. Otherwise can anyone suggest the best place to source suitable mains multicore cable? 1.5mm will do
  16. Hi guys. I have small job at the end of the year. If it happens its is two or three simple cameras plus a couple of video clips, outputting into something like Zoom. Has anyone got tips? Its and annual lighting and sound job, but this year it might be fed out as well.
  17. I have couple of these. The main issue is the feed pipe getting clogged I think. They actually became too unreliable for hire stock, I am a little hire business so resource backup is not really there. I suspect over time, and I bought them second hand they have not been cleaned after use so have just got bunged up. In my case the other issue is they are a little different in age so warm up times are different anyway. I know just sub in from a friend who has a couple of Showtec units which cost relative peanuts and do a satisfactory job for shows the Neutron would be used for. However as others have said we all have time on our hands so maybe I should try and refurb them!
  18. Its model number is a Chinese BSW200. I have had a closer look with the head covers off as it no long lights up either way up! 12V power is going to the LED module. Video taken and sent to the supplier as its under a year old
  19. This is different issue to the other units. The unit was running totally fine then the lamp went off. Bringing the rig down the unit worked in every sense except the lamp on auto. ON taking it to the bench and sitting it down right way up,rather than hung it decided to work and did so for maybe four hours soak testing. On re rigging it it didn't work. Are there some sort of internal switch? We are a bit flumoxed They have been very reliable. Its the same venue I am having trouble with my other movers
  20. Thanks for the ideas chaps. They are LED so I dont think it is a PF issue The next step is how to get into the base to test or replace the PSU. So far we have gone in the top covers but to be honest it rather looks like removing the base plate would make more sense. The power is 16A through a breaker so unless something has happened upstream of that its not repeatable
  21. I have had these Chinese units for about three years without any problems. They are being used in a new venue and after all being set up fine on day two they have all started blowing input fuses. We guess something has damaged the power supply and thats blowing the 20mm fuse. We can only imagine an unobserved power surge or similar. Has anyone else come across something like this?
  22. All looms disconnected and the fuse still blows! The lamp is striking though
  23. Its the righthand fuse. It was an 8A fuse that I took out! If I had the schematic it would help. I just realised there was on in the back of the handbook. Its the one marked as 6.3 A on my drawing. Without opening another unit, there is red led flashing just by the tilt feedback plug Looking at the rest of the indicators I wonder if that should be lit green or at least the one next to it.
