bigclive
I came across this on ebay and love the way it says it converts "standard" MR16 lamps to bayonet cap. I'm not sure I've come across many 240V MR16 lamps, although I'm sure that you can probably get them on ebay too. Ebay fun adaptor make lamp go boom. I'm tempted to buy some just to leave them lying about.
Ynot
UNLESS they have a sneaky little transformer tucked inside.....
bigclive
I don't think it's that sophisticated. I'm pretty sure it's straight mains through.
PaulDF
Shouldn't these have sleeved pins on the plug: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2m-UK-Electric-Mains-Hook-Up-Adaptor-Converter-Camping-Caravan-Fly-Lead-Cable-/180984154291?pt=UK_Campervan_Caravan_Accessories&hash=item2a237f08b3#ht_1660wt_922 Spot the mistake: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-Pin-IEC-C13-Mains-Cable-Power-UK-Kettle-Lead-Plug-Cord-PC-Monitor-LCD-TV-UK-/271068054391?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item3f1cea4377#ht_1947wt_1392
Tomo
Yet eBay have no way whatsoever of reporting these items! That must make them liable, surely? Trading Standards and all that jazz?
DrummerJonny
I decided to go on a hunt for more of these, decided to up the amperage so typed "32a" into the search box... Not entirely what I was looking for, and took me a couple of confused seconds to work out what the hell had happened...
maeterlinck
Useful if you're doing a conversion for a practical to LV. I guess they mean it's for GY6.35 240VAC capsule lamp. @Tomo: You can report the item. There's a report item link on the listing page. Info: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.htmlBut it's unlikely they'll remove it unless it's illegal.
Tezzachs
Spot the mistake: http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_1947wt_1392 Apart from the appaling American wording of the listing? nope? Knowing my luck its probably really obvious

Oldradiohand
I've found the bulbs that go with the adaptorhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-x-MR16-3W-Cool-White-LED-Light-Bulbs-LED-Lamps-Spot-Light-AC-100V-AC-240V-/180984757293?pt=UK_Light_Bulbs&hash=item2a23883c2d mind you, on closer inspection of the picture......... greenalien
The adaptor looks to me like it's for GU10 lamps, which are mains voltage - so the problem is the Ebayer, who doesn't know what he's selling...

Post 1 is certainly a socket for an MR16, a GU10 socket looks like one of these here which would be a perfectly valid item
