Spinning (Cycling) Studio Lighting

Hope someone would be able to shed some light on this one.

We've got a client who is in the process of constructing a new spin studio as part of their gym. The manager whilst abroad was in a spin studio which had LED lighting and smoke machine for creating an ambience to get people in the mood for working out.

My question is - Is there such a thing as a DMX controller which could be mounted onto the bike handle bars which would allow the selection of a few LED Colour Washes, Fades, Strobe & Other effects via the touch of a button.

Baring in mind it has to be user friendly.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Cheers

Artistic license do a range of products that would be perfect for this. Can't remember the specific device but the do a product that records and replays DMX states.

This would allow someone with a lighting desk to program a few scenes and then those scenes can be replayed on site without any need for lighting/technical ability and nobody can edit the scenes.

Wouldn't be too hard to manufacture a handlebar mount of some kind. Add in a few connectors and some cable and it can all be removed if required.

There are a lot of controllers in the DJ market that will offer two or three pre programmed scenes. Some of these could be pendant in front of the customer, some fastened to the gym machine. Some are even remote controls.

Gym lighting has progressed a lot since the days of sweat stained walls!

Cheers for the advice lads,

Just have one of the colorrail IRC's here on demo - Unfortunately the beam spread is very narrow... So looks like I'll be back to one of the other solutions suggested.

Thanks,

You could investigate the plastic diffusion lenses that Thomann (amongst others) sell for LED fixtures. Might be worth the effort if the beam angle is the only thing stopping you from going with this option.
