revbobuk Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Can't help feeling that these would come in useful: 160 LED worklight At £25, not a bad deal.
Ashley R Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Can't help feeling that these would come in useful: 160 LED worklight At £25, not a bad deal. I wonder how bright these are, in comparison to a standard halogen flood light. And then I start to think when will these appear on Aldi stores in Australia, as I can think of a few uses for them if they are of a reasonable output.
adamharman Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I wonder how bright these are, in comparison to a standard halogen flood light. Probably nothing like as bright, but a lot of the time halogens are just get used because they're cheap and convenient rather than because it needs to be that bright. Not needing a new lamp every time it gets knocked over is a bonus too!
KidRay Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I'd be interested to know what the beam angle is compared to a halogen flood, not a strong point on most led products.
boswell Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 As they use 160 LEDS, I wonder if they wire them all in series with a simple bridge rectifier and a limiting resistor or series/parallel them up and use a proper power supply.I bet it's the former to keep cost down.
themadhippy Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 mmm, could be interesting for a blinder matrix, wonder if my local has 16 in stock
