torch1972 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I need to get my fly and fixed bar load tested. I have used a company before but I am looking to use a different company. Who have you used and are they any good? Please tell your experiences. Thanks
Simon Lewis Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Are you really looking for load testing or for inspection by a competent person?

SoLiEn Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 we've used stage lx, never had any problems when you can pin them down..
paulears Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 TV and Theatre Services, Dereham They'll almost certainly NOT recommend a weight test, but simply inspect and certificate. Weight testing in many cases serves no real purpose, and is not necessary if the inspectors know their stuff. A 25 tonne crane doesn't need to test itself with a 3 tonne weight. Weight testing can be useful in some cases, but as the weight 'declared' is always much lower than the 'real' capacity, you'd need to vastly over-weight a bar. So if you have 250Kg bars, how much weight would you have to use to load it to full capacity, and would actually doing this be safe - or indeed possible?
AndyJones Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 +1 for TV and Theatre Services, Joe and Les are brilliant.
Tom Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Hall Stage (Charles is an occasional visitor to the board). They also did not recommend load testing when they took on our inspection. I don't believe there is a specific requirement under LOLER to do so - or I couldn't find one when I trawled though it anyway. T
J Pearce Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I've just had Stage Electrics in at work and they were great, did all my rigging inspection and NICEIC electrical testing in a day.
