Multimeter

one thing to look for on a multimeter is the level of protection it offers the user if you do something wrong

I was advised to spend money on Fused probes, but there's no mention of them on the Fluke website and I know they'll be bloody expensive...

Had a Cheapy meter once with a dial to select the range. The 230V AC was directly opposite the 9v DC range. I tried to measure mains voltage with the dial at 9V and a lovely glow effect was seen inside the meter. After that it wasn't much good...

Went to Maplin, spent £80 on a Fluke 10, never needed anything else. They're solid and dependable and don't fry if you select the wrong range B)

Ok, I've decided to go for the Fluke 110.

Does anyone have any alternatives to RS or Maplin who both want £75 plus VAT. That's the RRP, so I don't think I'll do much better...
