Joe Bleasdale
I-lite or lite alternative I think. From knowledge, programmer was Glen Johnson and controlled by a mix of Hog 2ss and Hog 3's.
Yorkie
I can't tell you who's doing their lighting, but I can give you some other relevant advice. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Nico, but the way to get experience at big events seems to be slogging away at the mundane bits of little jobs, and if you don't have a personal contact it will be very hard to get in. In your case, this side of your 18th Birthday it's unlikely that you'll get any work with most people.
menghini222
** laughs out loud ** I kind of did expect that kind of reply, although I was not 100% sure. Not to worry, Looks like I have alot to look forward to on my 18th Birthday :) Thanks For the quick reply, Menghini222
DrummerJonny
yeah man, its all about slogging it out with the small time and working your way up... gigs like that are **the best gigs in the country**. to be working the best gig, it follows you have to be the lighting engineer... that said, do a bit of research, fire off an email to the ccompany saying you're looking for experience, and saying what you can already do, and you might just get lucky making tea (or other small jobs, im sure you know what I mean... coiling cables ect) for them, then its just a case of working your way up. lifes a ladder, and climbing is effort.... Guest lightnix
As mentioned elsewhere previously: one of the best ways to get some general gig experience when starting out, is to work for local crewing companies. Try... GallowglassShowforceStage MiraclesShowstarsAffinity Crew Hope that helps. Good luck :)

alex_kyuss
As fare as crew go (if your in London anyway) generally crews have sectors that the work in like Affinity Crew help out the house crew at the 02, were as Miracles are the load in / out crew for 90% of the rock gigs there. If I were you I would try and get work from them because they do alot more of the rock and roll gigs then the other crews. my 2p worth
samrulesapply
This post has been really helpful to me. I've been trying to get a foot on the ladder for this type of event for along time. Do any of you guys know of similar crewing companies in and around manchester/liverpool/north? Cheers

gareth
info@ineedcrew.co.uk - they just hired me. They do alot at the ACC, worth a try.I don't think they're really what you'd call a crewing agency who are on a par with Gallowglass, etc. I had a look at their website and their phone number is an area code that's very near to me, so out of curiosity I had a little Google and it turns out that they're actually a mobile disco and karaoke company ... but hey, if they're giving you some work, then that's great. Joe Bleasdale
From what they told me on the phone, they do alot of stuff. The work I am on is at the Liverpool Arena, conference side of it. It is corporate work. http://www.ineedcrew.co.uk/. You are right Gareth, any work is work, especially in the current economic climate!
