Hi all,

I appologise if this has been discussed before, but anyway, here goes.

Can anyone recomend me any good books about sound?

Is there any that also talk about the equipment like speakers, desks etc?

Cheers,

Heinz

I'll add that this:

The Sound Reinforcement Handbook - Gary Davis & Ralph Jones

seems to come top of most people's lists. My copy is within arm's reach right now.

Definitely the Yamaha book as first choice.

http://www.terralec.co.uk/books_and_manuals/115_0c.html Will offer you something to read. though some mat be rather superficial in content.

I like the Acoustics book by Gilford for an appreciation of studio acoustics. It's 40 years old but Air sound and concrete are still the same! And the methods are affordable! For that you will have to search Abebooks.co.uk

Soundcraft user manual?

Also, Paul White (editor in-chief of SoundonSound) has made a few books on different aspects of "sound"

Like this one: http://www.studiospares.com/Books/Basic-Di...ing/invt/130250

Very cheap too!

Also, these kind of books are more for referring to, rather than your night-time read or something!
