sam.henderson
Ok Guys, What I'm after is a discreet ear piece with a microphone to connect to my tec pro wired comms system! I want it to be a bit like a mobile hands free (old style) as it is for the conductor. Any ideas?? Sam
the kid
Hi, I'm not sure if this will work, or anything! But I assume you meen adapting them and putting in something like this or thisor this But im not sure how well they'll work as I brought a pair of 2way-raido's and they wernt compatable with the headsets because of the voltage or something weird like that. the kid
Ah well if its 5 pin I can't help you but what you coule do is a) see if you can devise a 5 pin to twin pin(one for mic one for earpeice) like the ones that you get that convert single to double or, b) change the plug's. I know you can but from maplins the little bits that make up a headset and mic socket I just dont know where they are on the site.
peter
This thread, This thread and this thread provide some information on wireless comms. Canford now manufacture a wireless beltpack system. This sitep provides information on pinouts if you fancy making your own adaptor from Techpro to whatever pinout your radios use for their remote headsets. Hope some of this helps. Tom
Don't think he's after wireless. What about this
Tomo
The Techpro headset output is an XLR-4 male connector, wired as 2 pins for speaker and 2 pins for mic. The mic must be a dynamic mic, not an electret or similar - that's likely to be your problem. Once you've found something with a dynamic mic, just swap the connector that comes with it for an XLR-4 female plug and off you go. Ensure the two circuits are seperate though, as the Techpro circuitry gets confused if you use a commoned system for mic and speaker.

StuRobson
try this - http://www.beyerdynamic.co.uk/beyer%20pages/proheadsets.html I think the DT108.38 are the ones £113.96 from http://www.sound-light-company.co.uk/?http...facturers_id=28 or you can get the stereo ones DT109.38 £141.07 http://www.sound-light-company.co.uk/?http...facturers_id=28 both ugly looking things <- should get the job done though...
