Andy! Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Hey is there anything you can put on or under a bass speaker to stop it vibrating on the floor to much?? ie like sometype of spunge that will absorb the vibration. Thanks
TomLyall Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 lampie talking here (so dont shout at me if im wrong ) well if its the floor you want it to stop shaking, then could you try spikes? Tom
the kid Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 What kind of bass speaker are we talking about here when we did a concert at school the bassist used his 400w one and the weight alone kept it down!! But a assume you meen a smaller one are you shore the floor is level on all corners etc?
Ike Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Our 3KW bass bins move a bit and there is very little you can do to stop it completly, you could try adding more weight or fixing them down somehow.
Jivemaster Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Try a piece of carpet or underfelt cut to size. If they travel when in use then ratchet luggage tie down straps from Halfords (etc) or full size truck load fasteners, fastened to suitable points on the floor.
Chris_R Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 he he! memories of a festival where we had to load strap the speakers together, and to the platform they were on to stop them walking into the crowd!
Pete McCrea Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Been there done that too. Felt 7.5t trucks shaking when loaded with 12K of PA. Interesting sensation. Also been sttod in front of an active stack, and not heard anything as it was a low Mid/Sub stack the size of a house. Felt sick quite quickly..... I suggest- carpet under the cab (possibly a piece fixed to the cab bottom, and the a piece fixed to the floor to maximise friction), or then restraint.
Steve Cheese Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Mobile dj here. I use a couple of big fluffy folded bath towels. One under each cab. Works a treat.
