simploerob
can you buy wall mounted boxes with bnc connectors in? we are installing a live video camera at church and rather than having cables all around the place when the camera is not there wanted a wall mounted box that we could plug the cables in to. looking for 1 with 3 plugs as we are running hd componant from the camera. or is it a case of making them from shallow back boxes and blank plates and drilling holes in it and fixing the connectors in http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?Module...69&doy=18m3 simon
DavidLee
can you buy wall mounted boxes with bnc connectors in?Yes - ;) Hint: Think about what you are looking for - BNC plate? Alternatively why not try one of the obvious suppliers such as MK? (Modular range of data connectors including BNC) David
handyandi
Canford do a whole range including these which use a standard 1g electrical surface or flush back box. Also have a look at the neutrik d-type bnc which are recessed to stop them sticking out so much.!! Andi
Nick Mawer
What kind of distance are you running? You might well find that you would be better off sending the HD signal over CAT 5 cable with proper active baluns. Might you also want to send audio over this conection occasionally? It might be worth looking at this http://www.kramerelectronics.co.uk/indexes...ame=WP-27_WP-28 for the CAT 5 solution or http://www.kramerelectronics.co.uk/indexes....asp?name=wav-2 for a coaxial solution Despite the appearance of these products on the web, they are designed to fit into standard UK MK back boxes. bruce
CPC part number AV06725, costs £1.18, but that's only a single BNC... http://cpc.farnell.com/productimages/farnell/standard/42420874.jpg
Steve Cavill
You can get the modular face plates from RS, cant remember the stock no.'s but you can get BNC modules for the, which you would just need to wire up.
boatman
When you do install your cables, use high quality double screened video coax and be sure to cut them to exactly the same length. A very small difference between cable lengths will produce nasty coloured edge artefacts on the pictures which you won't be able to remove.
