Jivemaster
I need to write on a black plastic surface, the surface IS black I can't change it! Has anyone ever sourced pens that write in White? Or do I have to settle for a silver pen?

Bobbsy
Does it have to be a permanent marker or could you use a chinagraph pencil (which are available in white)? Bob Edit: J Pearce beat me to it by SECONDS!
Rob_Beech
Agreed, liquid chalk, available in alsorts of colours, and not messy either which is good. http://www.rainbowchalk.com/ is the first example my friend Mr G comes up with
Pete McCrea
For marking all things black I settled for silver pen. Couldn't find a white one..... The silver is fairly 'hardcore'. We used it to write on pebbles as name places for our wedding reception over three years ago. Some of the pebbles got dumped in our garden, and the writing is still very legible. entersoundman
Our bass bins and racks are post-coded with a tip-ex pen!
Jivemaster
This is for numbering switches and the corresponding connectors so chalk seems a bit temp. I'll look at silver or tip=ex then Thanks

mikienorth
You can buy white paint pens at most stationers, just like the chalk pens, but more permanent. I've used then a few times to mark up kit with no ill effects...
pritch
white paint pens ... with no ill effects... I thought that until mine decided to die in an incredibly messy manner, leaving my favourite pair of black trousers rather less black than they started. ;)

StevieR
Can you get your hands on a label printer? If so, you can get white on clear tape that will give your panel a nice professional finish. Steve

I used it on the chromed parts of my drumkit to mark up the desired heights & angles of my cymbal stands etc. Even with a lot of wear & tear, it takes a good few years to need re-doing. khali
gnomatron
tip-ex can peel and chip on a soid surface in my experience, silver pen seems the best solution, easier to write with than tippex too.
