The Boogie Man
Hi Troops, Anybody have any idea if the showtec multidim 4chnl acts as a DMX terminator if it's last in line, or would a short DMX cable from the DMX out to a terminator be needed.Cheersbaz Sorry can a mod move this to lighting, I didnt realise I was still in sound when I wrote it.Cheers
pritch
The manual doesn't say that it does terminate the line, so I'd hazard a guess that it doesn't. You don't need anything fancy, just a 3-pin XLR with a 120 ohm resistor soldered across pins 2 and 3, and that can plug straight into the DMX out on the unit. The Boogie Man
Hi, I bought a DMX terminator for a couple of quid. So when it arrives I'll see what happens if I unplug it from the dimmer.baz

OK so far. However, when it does arrive you will unplug it from the dimmer. Is this some kind of 'antimatter exterminator' that you have ordered which will negate the effect of any terminator already in the system? If such a thing exists, it could be a useful piece of kit.
