Jivemaster
I remember some old XLR/jack 802s being 4 ohms, now I see speakon 802s are 8 ohms. When did the change happen?
Chris_R
I believe that the change came in when the 802 series 3 was released as I work in a venue which has some series 2's kicking about and they have XLR inputs. As far as I can see (by looking at the spec sheet) the series 3's were introduced in 2003.
Simon Lewis
I remember some old XLR/jack 802s being 4 ohms, now I see speakon 802s are 8 ohms. When did the change happen? I remember them being 8 Ohms - weren't they eight 1 Ohm loudspeakers wired in series.....? I spent half of the eighties running a system with two 802s a side from an amp that could never drive as low as 2 Ohms!
Chris_R
I remember them being 8 Ohms - weren't they eight 1 Ohm loudspeakers wired in series.....? Yes, I think they were. I couldn't remember and was going to check later, but the Bose spec sheet says the series 2 and series 3 speakers are 8 ohms.
StuRobson
Just checked our lot of 802s and they're mark II at 8ohms with parrelel jacks and FXLRs with 4amp fuse.
