Basics of Lighting Rig (for Coldplay Set) are:

 

34 x VL3000 Spots

22 x VL3000 Washes

18 x SGM 400 CMY Spots

14 x Atomic3000 Strobes

4 x VL1000 AS

4 x Studio Due CS4's

4 x Syncrolite SXB82's

2 x Lightning Strike 40k's

20 x 4 lite molefays

27 x 8 Lite Molefays

6 x 4 bar ACL's

4 x CP62 Floorcans

3 x 10k Mole Richardson Fresnels

1 x 100w lightbulb.

 

32 x Cyberhoist 500kg Motors & XLMT 3d Control System.

 

Most other bands are using a stripped down version of the above.

I've got one of those going out this week. Its not often my amateur level kit going out on hire matches the big boys :unsure:

 

(Actually, its a 200W blub, but who is going to quibble over that level of detail)

So...Coldplay is now a light show only?

 

(Since there's no sound equipment or crew listed!)

(Actually, having heard them do live sets on telly and fail rather miserably to make their vocals sound like the processed studio sound, maybe a light show is a better idea! I'll duck and run for cover now!)

Well - I watched some of the TV coverage. FOH was d&b audiotechnik J series and J subs. Monitoring was either d&b M2's or M4's. Drum fill looked like C7 and C7 sub.

 

Sure it sounded considerably better live than the TV mixes!
