Meduza
You may want to look at Ben Suffolks interface at www.usbdmx.com
amillar
Also look at www.lanbox.com - their software supports Mac OS X. Andrew.
dbuckley
PCStage apparently works on a Mac using VirtualPC
jfitzpat
We've got several users running us under VirtualPC as well. I got a chance to work 8 universes hard this way and couldn't find any problems - though I did really miss having a scroll wheel mouse (standard Microsoft Windows mouse). We offer a lot of ways to position movers, but I tend to use the little center mouse wheel as a 'psuedo encoder wheel' a lot. I also recall Jands announcing a native Mac version of their software quite a few months back, but I haven't seen anything since. -jjf
mac.calder
I believe a lot of the USB->DMX boxes use the FTDI chip/interface/whatever you want to call it (USB->RS232), which is fully supported under OS X. The rest is support at an application level - namely, the application knowing the control protocol.

Just to correct a misconception...although Macs didn't use to ship with a two-button, scrollwheel mouse, all you need to do is plug one in, and it'll work. New ones do come with a 2 button, scrollwheel mouse nowadays.
maartenengels
I realise this is quite an old thread, however, we are releasing a new software lighting controller for Mac OS X. It's called Cuelux and you can find info on www.cuelux.com. Perhaps this will help other people in their search. Maarten

benweblight
Also above is probably more relevant to older macs that needed to run virtual PC to use windows software...the newer intel macs can run windows quite easily using bootcamp or parrallels. david.elsbury
FFS this is not the Lightnetwork, where sales pitches abound. Can't you people all disclose that you sell these products and therefore are hardly impartial? Or just PM the poster to tell them instead? >.<
