Ellis
So, Selecon claim that you can print your own gobos using an inkjet printer and project them using a Pacific profile. But how long do they last and how well do they work? The only way to tell is to try them, but where can I hire Pacifics from? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Bryson
Roughly where are you? Kave (near Brighton) have some in hire stock.
Tom
I've done this and it works fairly well. There is a special gobo holder which has a glass heat shield. Depending on your image, as long as you don't run them at full for too long there was no problem. The quality is not quite up to a slide projector, but that may have been as much to do with the quality of my printer. We projected photographs and some text. Gradav and I think Sparks (both in London) have them.
Edlight
The Outside Lighting Company keep pacifics in Hire stock, www.theoutsidelightingcompany.co.uk The gobos are good for corperate gigs etc but they do not last more than perhaps a couple of days
Ellis
Thanks for your suggestions and comments. I am based in Worcester so I have limited choice of suppliers locally (SLX, Central Theatre Supplies, Enlightenment, ... any other suggestions welcomed). The M40 makes London a viable choice (even if I hav only driven there on a Sunday) Thanks Ellis
