Edlight
Can anyone give me the rules on pat testing, do you have to be qualified to do it.
Brian
The word you'll see is 'Competent as opposed to 'Qualified'. I would advise getting a copy of the ABTT guide' Advice on Electrical Safety and PAT Testing for Theatres'
Bryson
The rules on Pat testing? Rather an involved subject. Can I point you to some stuff elsewhere on the web first? Here's a useful bit from the ABTT about PAT testing in receiving venues: link And more generally, this: Link Overall, what your question is about is related to the definition of a "competent Person." That does not necessarily mean "qualified" - but qualification can be an important part of that. I would advise getting some specialist training. The ABTT run a course that should suit your needs. I've done it, and it's very good.
James C
I would advise getting some specialist training. The ABTT run a course that should suit your needs. I've done it, and it's very good.I'll second that. I left there far more confident & competent that when I went in. However, I was fortunate enough to have one-to-one training as everyone else booked for that day cancelled at the last minute!
