  1. SAXLIFT scissor lift IDL2000 – 1300mmX850mm. Closed height 360mm to total height1780mm (1420mm travel in 28sec). 2000kg capacity. Run by 3 Phase motor powering 2x hydraulic rams, it is reasonably quiet in operation from a hand controller with 6m lead. Lift has motion limit switches but the original top platform has been removed. For our production, a plywood top 950mmx 1800mm with a box steel frame was constructed as our table top. This can be supplied with the lift if required for no extra charge or an OEM part can be sourced from SAXLIFT. I purchased the lift in 2021 for a single production that Christmas. The lift was removed from a commercial business unused after commissioned and found to be unsuitable. Unfortunately there is no 3 phase power supply at the storage unit to demonstrate this working so the lift is sold as seen. This lift was over £3000 new I am looking to recover just £500. It will need a large van or vehicle with a load capacity to take it’s weight of 480kg. We can fork-lift load to your vehicle. Thanks for reading and please contact me through Blue-room for any further details. Lift is in Morecambe, Lancs.
  2. I can agree with ImagineerTom. You can get good scale representation on small structures but the way many printers 'layer' the material, it sometimes presents issues that make the model too brittle to use. I model in Creo Engineer and have access to a very expensive F10 Markforged Onyx printer. I generally don't go below 1mm for any structure thickness, but you also need to position the model on the bed to give make your strongest features horizontal to minimize cross sectional weakness.
  3. Worth pointing out if anyone is thinking the Pyroflash pods are all the same - they are not. Back in the day when I was trained using 'Sky-high' products before they went out of business, we used the flat pods for simple 'Stage puff' of smoke effects - they came in single or double pod form and could be daisy chained. Then I bought myself the 6 way Le Maitre controller as this could be operated without mains using 2 x 9v batteries. Both systems can use the same pyro effects but I noticed the Le Maitre angled pods I bought with the controller use pyros with pin centers at 19mm and the flat pods catered for pins at 16mm centers. I guess it is so you can't project a 'flame effect anyway other that vertically upwards using a flat pod. I then leant that the angle pods are only suitable for Pyroflash confetti, streamers and glitter so if you want the full scope of effects, you need to purchase both types.
  4. Sounds like a good few suggested sites to look at here. When I occasionally need a similar clamp bolt, to use without spanners and I have the room for it, I cut the hex head off a long bolt and bend it 90 degrees just above the threads. You can get much more torque than a wing nut, but like I say, you need the room to turn it.
  5. I agree with all the posts & suggested sites on 'closed-cell foam'. Worth pointing out that cheaper open cell foam (sponge) is often used for lighter protection like small headsets but it will not hold heavier equipment, is more likely to tear and cannot be cleaned as easily.
  6. 'MaxiFlex' seem to be the most often used at our theatre. I like them because of the elasticated wrist cuff. Loads of sizes.
  7. Hi guys. I will be selling a powered scissor lift shortly but I need a few more posts to qualify for a free ad so I will share the story of aquring it to see if anyoe knows of other outlets that can move it on for me. The lift is a SAXLIFT IDL2000 WITH A 2000KG capacity run on a 3phase motor. I aquired this from a lifting company in Preston to use in our 2022 panto at the Grande Theatre Lancaster. It was taken vertually new from a catering company . It has a max height of 1.8m and the 1800x1300mm platform, it fit in with our rostra and met our requirements so now is surplus to futrure requirements. I really wanted a single phase powered llift, but in the second hand market, we had to make compromises. We changed the top to accommodate a plywood top and so the micro switches for the safty cut out apron were removed but could easily be reinstated with a new 'lip' on the top if required. I am looking for alternative sites to Ebay and will offer all help in further enquiries.
