Sports Halls

We did a big 2000-ish sports hall event earlier this year. It required spoken word reinforcement plus a full band. We opted for a d&b Q series array which worked well. The modeling program helped with the design and we kept most of the sound from the sidewalls to prevent the reflections from those. We then used a few 'fill' cabinets on stands to cover the areas at the sides and front that were left over. We were lucky, though, to have bleacher seating at the back of the hall which minimised a lot of the slapback. Overall, we got a good (albeit not perfect) sound.
