Krypton Mac 250 “Hot” Message

I have this old Krypton Mac 250. After like 1minute or 2minutes of turning it on, it displays a “HOT” message even when I didn’t connect a controller to it, let alone sending a lamp on command. Then, after sending the lamp on command, nothing happens including pan and tilt.

I posted a "fix" for a Mac 250 with a similar error, the wireing (running in temp protective sleeve) behind the lamp had become brittle and disintergreated.

The wires connect to a thermal switch, which I think detecta a "true hot" condition.

I replaced the wires and sleeve.

All good.

there is a yellow capacitor in the base unit from memory which provides 24 volts for the lamp on relay. I have found these capacitors to be bad in the past, especially with ageing.
