If you can cope with one single switch, then I've used these in the past with great success;

Either use the switch only, and panel mount it (lots of soldering) or buy xlr-D sub cables and just plug them in to it. Both solutions work just fine.

My QLAB rack has one on the front to switch the 8 xlr outputs between my main and standby machines.

The annoying thing is I stripped some kit to repurpose it (Ironically I built a changeover box) and the existing XLR sockets had 3 changeover contacts and used for the same purpose to some din sockets.

I was in 2 minds to replace them with standard sockets but didn't think the effort was worth it.

Can I find a similar product now? ...     Not a chance

Do I now wish I'd drilled out the pop rivets?  Yeah sorry.🫣

Right now I think Sandall has the right idea.

I stripped a bit of kit that had 6 XLR and Din inputs and DA outputs, total of 24 connectors. The inputs had switch contacts on the input XLRs to isolate the DINs. I stripped the faulty germanium transistor based electronics, replaced the DIN input sockets with XLR, added a Traffolite front panel to cover the existing holes and used the switch and wiring from one of those boxes to make a 6 channel changeover.

Another by replacing one of the DA connectors in one of those boxes with 4 jacks to give a stereo + 2 foldback changeover in a hall to provide inputs for hirers. The other 2 DA connectors being wired to jack plugs for house desk and an XLR panel.
