ROBE 250AT COLOR WHEEL ERRORS

Hi All,

New to this forum so hope someone can help.

I have purchased a second hand ROBE 250XT COLORSPOT. Have done the stripdown and clean as it was extremely dirty. Fitted a new lamp. The only error I keep getting is a COLORWHEEL ERROR. From looking at the service manual and the user manual it says that the colorwheel does not know where the wheel is and maybe a sensor issue. The magnet is present in the wheel and the distance to the sensor is approx 5mm. All wireing is ok and connections good. Can I assume it is a sensor issue and would need a new sensor?

I have removed the MAG 4A which is the sensor in question but does anyone know what type of HALL EFFECT SENSOR it is?? I would be able just to replace the 3 pin sensor if I know what it is.

Any help appreciatted.

Swap the sensor with another on the unit to confirm. If the magnet is all good, then probably the HE as you say unless the wiring loom has an issue or has come off at one end or the other.

Can't remember the sensor spec without one in front of me (3 legged package, bent over?) but pretty standard if I recall.

In all the service manuals they refer to a HAL506, however this is long discontinued. I had to replace a couple in some 250XT washes and if my notes are correct I used a  SM451R.

Thanks for this. Yes I found a HAL506 but as you say they are discontinued. Will look for a SM451R.

I will dive this a do. Will swap it with the Gobo Wheel sensor and see if I then get a Gobo Error instaed of a color wheel fault.
