Light recommendations for small music venue

Hi, We have a small venue (can seat about 200), and are looking to do a light upgrade.

We do mostly music/bands, rarely do any theater. Lots of people rent out the venue for all kinds of things (lot's of parties, so the eye candy would be cool for those).

The Manager asked to keep the budget between 2-5K.

Right now I'm using 20 par cans, 5 LED bars (hung above the curtain) and 2 Chauvet DJ Intimidator 255 IRCs.

Need to get a program, some form of board, and my biggest focus is wash lights (so I can retire some of the par cans).

We met a guy who does setups like this and has recommended Daslight4 with a midi board, and some V-show B Eye 1915 (Clay Paky ALeda B eye k10 imitations), which don't look too bad and are considerably cheaper for the same feature set.

Looking to see other opinions/suggestions to consider, thank you

Desk is going to need to cater to multiple users or usually same operator?

Midi might be confusing for some, or something like MagicQ that can present a kiosk screen of looks.

Watch out for your beam angles, some effects have narrow angles, not so much use in a smaller room.

Mebbe treat wash and eye candy as separate items.
