Firewire soundcards & USB laptops

If you are wedded to the idea of a laptop then it will allways be a problem. If you can live with a sff desktop then all is good.
I have two ff800s that I love and refuse to part with, so anytime I want to do anything with a new comp I just buy a pcie firewire TI chipset card and pop it in the back.
I know I should leave the stone age and go laptop usb for backing, but the ff800 have no latency and sound killer.
