Fake blood coming out of shirt

Ive been asked to create an effect of where blood is seen to be coming out of someones shirt after they get 'stabbed'. Ive been told its got to be realistic as possible but that something a child (Year 10) can operate. I can source the fake blood but im just after the mechanism. Is there a item that can do this or am I better off fabricating something? if so how?

Syringe, aquarium air tubing, maybe a bit of sponge on the end so that it oozes rather than spurts.

Or make up a blood bag (usually cling film) and have the actor pop it - perhaps by clenching their hand to the wound. It is rarely a good idea for any stage weapon to be used to burst a blood bag.

Get a fight director.  If a year 10 child is being 'stabbed', you need someone qualified , and they will also tell you how to manage the blood.

Look at those halloween skeleton costume that push blood out and copy their way. Have tubing and a syringe with blood in it.
