Speaker recommendations for QSC CX108v

Hi team,

I’ve been tasked with revamping our theatre’s backstage audio relay speakers. I’m working with 2x QSC CX108v, which will require all channels to be used, and the longest cable run is around 80m. Destinations are dressing rooms, stairwells etc.

Over the tenure of previous technicians a whole range of speakers have been mish-mashed into the system as speakers have died, and has thrown the whole system out of balance.

What are your thoughts on which speakers to purchase to revamp this system? The ideal is something between 3-5”. I’ve not got bags of time to do the install either so bracket-mounted speakers are preferred to recessed ones.

Muchos gracias!

Do you require straight forward speakers or something with volume control and relay for override?

Straight forward speakers :)

I have used this: https://cpc.farnell....lack/dp/LS04114

and a "Pulse" badged version of this: https://cpc.farnell..../dp/LS04975Both with good results.

These are quite good: https://cpc.farnell....pair/dp/LS04999, but only have a 6 watt rating at 100V with no other taps.

Bear in mind the power is halved when any 100V speakers are run on 70V which I believe the amplifier is.

There should be better prices elsewhere.
