We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced all-round technician to join our team as an AV & Events Production Technician. Based in Christchurch on the south coast, the ideal candidate will have had at least 5 years industry experience and have a solid knowledge in all disciplines. The role is currently available on a 12-month contract with a view to a full time position should it suit all parties.

 

Working onsite or during the pre-production process, leading a team or as part of a team, to set up, operate and de-rig equipment for the many varied events supplied by the company. You will also on occasion be expected to act as the point of contact on-site in the absence of a Project Manager, and be the nominated company representative on site to liaise with clients and other suppliers. Some office & warehouse work may also be required as part of this role when there are no onsite requirements, as well as the adaptability to support colleagues. A good standard of knowledge in Lighting, Sound & AV is essential.

 

Overall Responsibilities

• Organising & providing excellent technical support for events working alone or managing a team on client events

• Working on events, as a senior member of the team and specialist technician role

• Providing great customer service and support throughout the event and any pre-production periods.

• Assisting project managers to arrange sub-hires, staffing and logistics for events.

• Quoting and budgeting events for clients, maintaining a great delivery for the event and healthy profit margin for the company

• Managing the client's requirements & expectations.

 

Key Areas

• On-Site Technical Support for a variety of events

• Supporting project managers to deliver event productions to a high standard

• Interacting with customers at client sites, phone, email and in the wider community to provide support and excellent customer service where needed.

• Maintaining current knowledge of technical event equipment and it's usage, through training and experience

• Coordinating all aspects of an event from enquiry to the point of completion and tracking budgets throughout.

• Identifying worthwhile opportunities and communicating with leads as soon as possible.

• Generating leads and opportunities through industry networking and contacts.

 

Responsibilities

• Please note this is an events industry role and in line with the industry we work in, the working hours will include evenings and weekends as standard.

• Taking new enquiries and ensuring that clients receive prompt and accurate proposals for events

• Tracking all costings for projects, maintaining a budget and ensuring a healthy profit margin for the business.

• Following up potential leads and existing opportunities.

• Designing and creating events alongside project managers and the senior team.

• Booking staff, logistics and sub hire equipment.

• Producing full and detailed equipment lists & schedules.

• Complying with company health & safety policies, risk assessments, company procedures and ensuring they are fulfilled throughout.

 

Other responsibilities

• Attending customer sites or venues to discuss opportunities and obtain information about the event & venue.

• Event media content creation and editing.

• Driving CPS vehicles safely with a full UK driving licence and adhering to the CPS driver's handbook at all times.

Salary is £24k to £28k depending on experience.
