Minidisc Footswitch

Hi. This is something that came up 15 years ago but I have the problem now and wondered if there had been an update

I have a Tascam Minidisc player and would like to control it by footswitch

 

Has anyone found a solution for this or know of a minidisc player with a footswitch?

If your player has tactical buttons you could rewire to a connector for a foot switch.

Tascam did make a 3-pedal footswitch, but it might not be compatible with your player. Which model do you have? The MD 350 has an old pre-USB computer keyboard socket on, and people have modified an old keyboard to do what you want to do. Have a look at this thread from a few years ago.

Can you let us know which Tascam machine you have (model number), then we can be more specific on what your options are.

 

e.g.:

MD-350/301/501/02 doesn't have any parallel control or tally on the rear, only the PS/2 keyboard port on the front.

MD-CD1 has an RS232 serial control port (DB9) on the back and PS/2 on the front.

MD-801 has a boat load of control options and I/O.
