Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on why I would be getting the following issue,

 

When you increase the intensity of the dimmer channel that the Sunstrip is plugged into, instead of ramping up in the usual fashion the sunstrip appears to come on at a low intensity suddenly, in this case at around the 10% intensity mark,

any ideas?

Normally you wouldn’t plug one into a dimmer; you would plug it into an always-on supply (hot power) and connect DMX to the strip to control it.

Just to make sure from the very start, you're not using a Sunstrip Active are you? As in the Sunstrip type that takes a DMX input and control?

 

I'm pretty sure that there are two models of sunstrip- active and none active / just hard wired straight to a plug.

Its not the active model, its hard wired straight to a plug

Thst sounds remarkably like the behaviour of LED fittings on a dimmer. Someone hasn't helpfully swapped the lamps?

Is there any option to adjust dimmer curve on either your desk or dimmer pack? Could be a dimmer acting as a relay

The lamps are all halogen,

 

The dimmer used is a Transcension UP-2 RF Dimmer Controller, purchased recently,

 

The dimer was working as a dimmer not a relay,

 

I have yet to try it on a betapack,
