Guest lightnix Posted July 22, 2003 Share Posted July 22, 2003 Don't forget that the various VL offices around Europe are not connected with VLPS in the UK, V*L under Genlyte Thomas in the US, or even with each other to a great extent. The reason you can't hire them out there is probably because they have decided not to keep them in stock, they are no longer under any obligation to stock the full VL range. Most of the VL jobs out in Europe are trade shows, rock tours and TV programmes. In many cases there isn't really the theatrical market to justify the (considerable) investment in the kit. On the other hand, as the VL1000 is a buyable product, you could always see if any other lighting hire companies have them - Procon in Hamburg seem the have just about every kind of nodding bucket known to man, maybe give them a try.
