doug86
Hi Everyone, We've had a failure in one of our Robe Colourspot 1200 AT (Electronic ballast). We urgently need one of the following IC chips from the stepper motor control boards near the lens end of the fixture: V3.1/IC2 B3 Does anyone have one in stock near North/East London or Essex they would be willing to part with? We need the head for a show loading in on Sunday and they are on a 2 week lead time with Robe. Any help much appreciated! Dx http://tommyevansmusic.com/IMG_0990.JPG Here is a picture of the chip! Thanks in advance! Dx
Brian
That's a pre-programmed PIC chip which drives the stepper motor driver(s).
timmeh2
Indeed they are. It would probably be easier to dry hire a complete new unit than trying to source a spare chip, which can blow for numerous reasons but often because of chafed cables. So you should diagnose the fault before sticking a fresh one in. All the bestTimmeh
doug86
Agreed! The cause of the failure has been diagnosed and fixed. The fixture belongs to me and dry-hiring in fixtures somewhat defeats the object of running a hire company so I'd rather try to fix this one if there is an option to do so! I have a backup plan but would rather send out these units as we have the correct gobos for them in stock. Thanks for the assistance though. All the best, Dx
timmeh2
Fair enough. Have you tried ColourSound? They used to have a load of Robe gear.
James Remo
Coloursound didn’t stock the 1200, they still stock a lot of robe gear but nothing that old. There is a bloke on eBay based in Hampshire that has a dozen for sale, might be worth a punt.
doug86
Thanks guys, Tried Coloursound and messaged the eBay chap. No luck so far. Keep the ideas coming! Dx
xllx
Keep the ideas coming! Dx Try Visual Elements, in Kent/Tobacco Dock. They have a large stock of Robe, not sure they go back that far, but you never know...
