Ryster Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 I'm looking for some recommendations for Active Stage Monitors. I'm struggling to find anything suitable in my search so far. I like the low profile of the Martin XE range (though they are all passive). Needs to have a 12" LF driver as a minimum with a 1" HF driver. I looked at the KV2 ESM12 until I realised that was passive :) The active offering from KV2 is the EX10 or EX12, which are really from their active portable PA line. It would probably be okay, but I'm concious that it's actually quite large and bulky, not really the low profile I'm looking for (a high stage means bulky monitors cause sight line issues). Anyone have any recommendations?
empyfree Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 RCF NX12 are proving popular at our place.
MarkPAman Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 The dB technologies DVX range are good - I get nice comments about mine from bands ranging from folk to original punks!
Turbo Guy Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 How about Turbosound TFX or TFM series. Can be picked up for around £550 each (TFX). 10 year warranty 12" Co-Axial http://www.musictribe.com/Categories/Turbosound/FLASHLINE-MONITORS/TFX122M-AN/p/P0BMU
stagemanagement Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 RCF NX12 are proving popular at our place. I'll second RCF's NX range - there's a lot of options at that budget range but the NX's deliver plenty of power, have a good dispersion for tight placement work on stage and I don't think I've ever tweaked more than 6 bands on the GEQ during a show once the PEQ on the bus is dialled in at initial gig setup!!
