Biskit
We've had a few cases recently on a relatively crowded on-stage LX bar with a mix of LED and conventional lanterns, where a DMX lead to an intelligent fixture has ended up accidentally in contact with a hot halogen lamphouse, with the inevitable consequences. We do our best with cable management and keeping these things apart already, but it still happens occasionally. Has anyone found a suitable heat-resistant data cable, perhaps silicone, suitable for DMX?Many thanks!

PTFE stuff however is pretty pricey, ££ per meter. Best bet if it is permanent is good old cable ties or if you are looking for a less permanent solution you could use velcro straps. Thomann sell a multitude of different sizes that would easily go round scaffold tube.
Jivemaster
Minimising the losses due to melted DMX is one very good reason why people use an active splitter. Given a proper isolated active splitter a failure on one line needn't affect the other splits. I have sometimes seen a RS485 cable for fireworks with a lime green silicone sheath but for the price.... http://firebywire.co.uk/web/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/firebywire-catalogue1.jpg Ring Mat at MLE -see what cable it is, see whether he can sell cable to you or even give you a supplier contact.
