madferit101
Hi, I've got a Mac250 Krypton that after a while it's colour wheel becomes misaligned, a reset fixes the issue but does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this in the first place? kgallen
Magnet dropped off the wheel or Hall effect sensor out of position?
KevinE
If you've checked the obvious like the wheel being loose on the shaft (they dont easily come off) then I'd check the motor is free and not stiff, (compare it with another); that the wiring loom is intact (ex disco heads tend to wear out their looms) and the motor magnetism is ok (check by substitution). If the magnet or sensor were playing up I'd say you'll get an error code. If the driver IC is in a socket then check its seated right. These are general tips, not specifically the krypton. Yes you're right, it looks from the manual (Table 6) that you should get the COER code: https://www.martin.com/Martin.Download.aspx?file=/files/files/productdocuments/11_MANUALS/999/UM_Mac250KryptonEntour_EN_E.pdf
Jivemaster
Losing steps on a moving head lamp is usually symptomatic of a thicker heavier mirror being fitted and the motor cannot make accurate steps if the load is too heavy. Is the stepper motor OK? is the wheel the correct one with the correct filters? IMO if cleaning the motor and bearings doesn't help you maybe a new motor is needed.
