Truss mounted dimmer

Snip

This is already happening with DMX halogen blinders.

The cabling trade off is socapex vs 1 DMX and a heavy mains cable. Can't see a huge amount of difference once looms are made up.

In 2011 on the leftfield tour I managed to half the amount of soca used in the rig by switching to DMX blinders. Still had racks (and therefore breakers) on the floor, but by having multiple fixtures on soca lines (pairing DMX 2 cell blinders that no longer needed their own lines) we managed to reduce the cable infrastructure by half. Alongside the sunstrip the showtec DMX blinders are pretty good little fixtures, not quite as robust but for the money they are pretty hard to beat

Truss mounted dimmers are advantageous when the power is in small bits, you can have a stand and crossbar running off DMX and a 13a socket, rather than sourced from the stage. Nice in smaller halls but no advantage in pro rigs! The down side is that the fuses are all over the place, and with cheap packs maybe inside the screwed box.
