richard
Hello For an upcoming show I have been asked to work out a way for an actor to draw onto a surface and the lines to appear on a screen behind. The best thing would be if they could draw onto a PDA/tablet laptop and this to be connected to something via wiFi, which would shove it to the projector. Is there software that would let us do this? Thanks Richard
Locksmith
How far away is the projector? Does it need to be WiFi? Without looking for more specialist stuff, powerpoint has a (very) basic drawing option, this may be of use with a graphics tablet. A laptop hidden under the table with associated vga-composite (or other) converter. Run the cable to a projector and Robert's your mother's brother. Personally, if there was enough time, I'd do something with a piece of custom software written for the purpose.
Andrew C
There are dedicated hard/software packages to do just this. Look at the education / training suppliers. This is the "New" SmartBoard scheme. Means that the teacher is facing the class while doodling on the tablet. Cost a bit though... Try Saville, Insight & Misco. Sorry, no time to look for URLs! bruce
Lots of ways to do it... Simplest way, if a big chunky VGA cable isn't a problem, would be a tablet PCconnected to the projector, run a drawing package or windows journal etc on the tablet, and robert is your parent's brother.... If wires are a problem, you could use a wireless lan and 2 pcs with some sort of desktop-sharing application. Maybe VNC, or windows remote desktop etc. Works OK, but can be a bit "jerky" Or look at some of the newer data projectors which have built-in wi-fi.... Bruce.
