Curtain track hire yorkshire

Panto season's approaching!

Last year we had some troubles with the theatre's aging curtain tracks sticking and generally messing about. They get taken down a bit too often and nobody really owns them, so they're twisted and just not getting looked after.

This year I'm looking to hire 3 x 9 or 10m tracks complete with runners etc. (Basically a full track package). Not too bothered about the brand as they don't need to be compatible with anything else. They need to be well looked after though and in a good state of repair (can't be having problems - it's taken enough work to persuade the committee it's worth the extra money).

I think the deal breaker is going to be shipping, which is why I'd like to stay local-ish. We're in Leeds.

I know 3D productions have some but I'm looking for other sources as well.

Anybody know of any hire sources nearby? Either a hire company or a theatre group who own some and want to make a bit of cash with a hire.

We do have storage, so if some second hand tracks came along at the right price then we'd maybe consider buying (and could travel for them). We're a local charity panto though so buying new as a long term investment is out of the question sadly.

Any help appreciated!!!

Stage one are local to you, they are known for staging major events now but started out hiring out steel deck and tab track, might be worth a call.

and you could try triple e, I don't think they hire anymore but they will have a list of who keeps their track for hire.

Thank you everybody

I went to triple E in the first instance before this thread to see if anybody local stocked their stuff. They've put me on to a local firm who are doing me a sales quote (might be able to swing purchasing some as a long term investment) but who don't do hire. I've just emailed stage one so will wait to hear what they have to say (impressive company, and I've driven past their warehouse hundreds of times on the way to my in-laws house without even noticing them!). We've had sub-hired stuff from CoNi before - mainly movers, but I've tried emailing and they keep bouncing back. Might give them a bell if the other options don't work out.

Cheers everyone

Chris
