LewisAtkinsLX Posted May 10, 2016 Share Posted May 10, 2016 I'm having trouble getting a signal through my SY appollo 4k scaler with some of my older laptop's HDMI outputs, has anyone had similar problems using modern scalers with old sources?My monitor is picking up some signal but seems to just blackout the screen when through the scaler. Joe Fernand Posted May 13, 2016 Share Posted May 13, 2016 Source - are you able to confirm what Resolution and Refresh rate it is Outputting? EDID - many older devices will require an EDID Manager sitting between the Source and the Sink to ensure a consistent Output from the Source. The EDID Manager acts like an 'always on' Sink so no no matter if you switch to/away from the Source on your Quad viewer the Source sees an active Sink. Cost for this is between £75 and £150.
