  1. HDBT is great for point to point when you know you are unlikely to want to add additional Source or Display devices. HD over LAN and UHD over LAN are more flexible when you need to start adding additional Source or Display devices - you simply add in a managed or unmanaged network Switch and add additional Transmitter and Receiver devices. Both systems will easy pass over a 40M cable. We supply all three options from Octava Inc. the HD over LAN system is very costs effective, https://octavainc.com/hdmi-over-ip-hdlan-poe/ Joe
  2. Digital Signage content management - look at Screenly OS running on a couple of Raspberry Pi, very low cost and simple to use system; I have a bunch of them running at my local Community Centre. There is also a paid version of Screenly with additional functionality. Displays - where possible I would go with a Pro Display with in built timer and or the ability to control remotely, look around there are thousands being replaced every day from corporate installs, I have yet to purchase one for any of the Community projects I work on. HDMI Distribution - HD or UHD over LAN would be my preference it is more robust than long HDMI cables, esp. if 'others' get near the kit! Joe
  3. Worth ensuring the basics are covered - https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041266011-Cam-Link-4K-Setup-Sony-A6000-for-Live-Streaming Joe
  4. May be worth a call - https://www.optoma-projector-repairs.co.uk Joe
  5. Don't use TV's - most Pro Displays will allow you to 'loop' an Input to an Output and simply daisy chain the two displays. Joe
  6. Always best to list the make and model number of the devices you are looking to connect and as mentioned above spec the distance between the Camera and the Display device - in this instance I would also want to know how the camera was being used (Hand held, Tripod etc) and is the camera feed also having to be recorded. Joe
  7. Are you wanting to send a live video feed or play back from a pre recorded Source? If it is the latter place the Source close to the Display and control the Source from a distance - may even be simpler to bring the audio back to you over a wireless connection? Joe
  8. 'What platform do you use to stream on?' - that bit we are still working on. The advantage of Eventbrite is that we will not be tied to just one streaming platform. We will be running a mix of online Clubs, Classes and Events where we, the Community Centre' are the Organiser and other events where we will facilitate so we may end up with a mix of streaming platforms to suit the customers. Joe
  9. I would be tempted to suggest you keep ticketing and streaming as stand alone to give you more flexibility over choice of streaming platform - for ticketing we find Eventbrite works very well and brings a decent level of 'native' business to us (Community Centre) via the inbuilt advertising Eventbrite undertake to existing Eventbrite users, be it geographical or by interest. https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articles/en_US/Multi_Group_How_To/how-to-set-up-an-online-only-event Joe
  10. As others suggest you will likely need to 'deal' with HDCP before you put the signal into the Mixer/Switcher - most of the HDFury range will give you that option, enabling it is not always; 'out of the box' so if you are testing it you will need to know the work arounds! Joe
  11. Have a look at the Epson Lightscene EV-100 Laser projector - it has a lot of great features for folk designing retail, museum and interactive spaces, one of our clients has a couple projecting interactive 'spiders' in a crazy golf installation! Price is approx £2K (Inc VAT). https://www.epson.co.uk/verticals/business-projectors/ev-100series Joe
  12. Does the content you are display have to be 'in sync' with audio or a performance - as earlier replies highlight that is often where you have issues in a 'live' scenario. Extending HDMI over CAT is relatively straightforward with options built around HDBT and 'over LAN' - though ideally both solutions have a stand-alone wired network which is not carrying conventional 'data' traffic. Are your Display devices in fixed locations? Joe
  13. As above - What is the use and what devices are you planning to connect? Joe
  14. I'll get some figures for latency both Point to Point and via a Switch - we can always sort you out a demo pair to try out. Price wise we ought to be pretty competitive against other HD over LAN solutions and very competitive against HDBT - esp. on larger systems. Joe
  15. Video Distribution - HD over LAN with a Gigabit switch as you Hub will allow one or more sources to any number of Display devices and will work with HDCP and no-HDCP protected content at the indicated cable lengths. Have a look at the Octava ProDSX system we supply/support - being 'modular' it is simple to add additional Source and Display devices to the system. HDCP - if you need to 'manage' HDCP to work with SDI or similar have a look at HDFury, we supply and use those on all manner of systems where HDCP is causing issues. Joe
  16. Understood - hopefully the Kramer does the job for you. Joe
  17. HDFury is the option we tend to supply and use when we have EDID, HDCP, Resolution and Format issues, they have a range of options. The key differentiator with HDFury being they are constantly updating firmware and providing custom solutions. Joe PS Link to our webshop - https://tmfsolutions.co.uk/product-category/hdfury/
  18. A screen does not generate light so you can never have more light reflecting off of the screen than the Source can Output - the 'gain' figure is relative to how much light you get back from a known surface. https://www.projectorcentral.com/projector_screens_gain.htm https://www.projectorcentral.com/projector_screens_brightness.htm Joe
  19. The HDFury device linked to earlier between the Laptop and the Active cable will usually resolve this type of problem. Joe
  20. Eddie - which G7000 Epson do you have? I have an Epson EB-G6570 which has HDBT alongside HDMI Inputs. You can use an HDBT Transmitter direct to the HDBT Input on the Projector via a long CAT5/6 cable. I also have mine wired with one of our 30m RuiPro Hybrid Fibre HDMI cables and both connections work well. Joe PS CMYK is usually used when working on media for print where you are going to layer inks to achieve the required colour.
  21. Active Cables can get up to all sorts of tricks with the signal so not unknown for them to not work with some Laptops - having mini-HDMI Out on the Laptop could be another factor if you have an adapter in the system. The HDFury DR HDMI is a good way to ensure the Laptop sees an active 'Sink" and allows you to decide what EDID you want the Laptop to see. https://tmfsolutions.co.uk/product/dr-hdmi/ Joe
  22. 'looking for advice on a installation' - that is where I would tend to stop the conversation with this customer. Unless they have someone like 'Mostly harmless' in the congregation with the knowledge and time to make this happen week in/week out (which if they did they would likely not be asking you for hardware options) then you are on a hiding in terms of reliable operation. I would start with finding out by whom and how the system is indented to be operated, maintained etc. before I got into hardware options or end up being blamed on a weekly basis for the system 'not working'! Joe
  23. The Video Distribution (Digital or Analogue) Ought to be the relatively simple part to accomplish - the Front end of your system and the requirement to make it user friendly for untrained volunteers to operate and presumably display differing content to the Show Controller, Performers and Audience is going to be the more difficult bit to accomplish. Delivering the Slide/Text at the appropriate time (just before you want folk to sing the line) is quite a skill - which becomes harder once you start to 'Freestyle' ('One More Time' is a fun moment :)). Have a look at the likes of ProPresenter by RenewedVision for an idea of what Features you may want to include in your system. Joe
  24. Hi Dan

Great the Octava units worked out - I work directly with/for Octava on the product development.

The HD DSX are not PoE - we have a higher cost/spec unit (Pro DSX) which is PoE but is twice the price.

We do have a few systems where we use USB cables from the connected Display to power the HD DSX RX.

I can send you a cable to try that option out ...
