mrmattday93
Hi there, got a few months to plan and price up some equipment to live broadcast some of our university's sports matches against a local rival. We have video cameras and switchers from our corporate work already, but do not have anything to broadcast an online stream. have a budget of up to about £3k at most, and would need to get hold of the computer, software and capture card if necessary. Would also like it to be relatively small and easy to transport, and ideally based on the mac platform so that the computer can be used for other prurposes with the mac only software we use elsewhere, so was thinking of a mac mini potentially? cheers for any help, Matt
david.elsbury
Check out the teradek streamers, starting with the Vidiu. What platform do you wish to stream to?
J Pearce
Have a look at the Roland video mixer/switchers - some of which provide an all in one box with a usb socket for connecting to a computer for streaming.
AHYoung
http://teradek.com/pages/vidiu does everything you need it to ... Assuming that you have all the cameras and switcher allready, you just need to take that feed and send it to whichever hosting service you chose , The vidiu does just that and will barely dent your budget. mrmattday93
will that unit take a vga source via a simple vga to hdmi adapter? as all our cameras and switchers are only SD anyway.
david.elsbury
The vidiu is quite fussy about signal rate and resolution - if you have a vga feed I would recommend a scaler to ensure you get a correct image

Not helpful this time round but this kind of functionality is being built directly in to cameras these days for example http://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/features.jsp?model_id=MDL102399 Which streams directly from the camera and has built in support for a score overlay. It's aimed at the American high school sports market.
