Alec
So, one of the conductors has become detatched from the connector inside an old style 2 pole Speakon. Obviously, if it were mine, I'd simply replace the Speakon with a NL2FX. But it's not mine, and it should just be a five minute fix, but I cant for the life of me work out how to get at the terminal points inside the plug. Either the innards need to come out, as with the NL2FX, or I need to remove the grey locking ring - but I can't work out how. I refuse to be beaten - but clearly need the magic technique - any takers?

Lamplighter
A fine screwdriver under the edge of the grey sleeve, where the arrow is, to release the black latch. You need to slide the grey sleeve a tad towards the cable entry initially to get the screwdriver in. Once th tab is down slide the sleeve off, away from the cable entry. When you re-assemble lever the black latch upward before you start then snap the grey sleeve back into position. Its not exactly elegant but perfectly do-able.Brian
Alec
Thanks Brian - job done! Obvious when you know how - completely non-obvious when you don't!!!
