Look Unique Hazer overheat issue...

Hi,

I've got a unique 2 hazer which is constantly overheating, I bought this recently in 'spares/repair' condition, basically it had had some pretty awful 'temp repairs' which I've managed to sort out. Main problems were an incorrect air pump (knackered) missing a one way air valve so it was completely flooded with haze fluid, also the heat exchanger was blocked. I've fitted the correct air pump and one way valve, and cleaned out the heat exchanger and now it hazes really well...... except it keeps overheating and tripping the overheat thermostat.... click it back in and works fine again for a bit the trips out again. The heat exchanger can have a dull red glow to it where it gets so hot, is that normal? If I disconnect the thermocouple it glows bright red very quickly so I assume the thermocouple is doing it's job in governing the temperature, so either the thermostat is tripping too soon or the thermocouple is letting it get too hot? Anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions?

Cheers

7 years late...but easy fix for anyone else looking for the answer. The thermo coupler has been wired pole-reversed back at the PCB. (The green and white 2 core cable on top of the block) trace it back to the PCB and reverse your polarity and it will magically start working. Hopefully you haven’t melted your heating block by this point. ???
