Hi anyone know how to sort out the ShER error code on a Mac 600...fixture works fine but the code is flashing all the time..somthing to do with the lamp relay and sensor I believe

Either 1) the lamp really is on or 2) the sensor is telling the micrprocessor that it's on even though it's not.

 

If 1 then look at a shorted relay contact or a shorted relay driver. If 2 then check the sensor and its wiring. Sensor is the most likely IMHO.

 

EDIT: Sorry - the MAC600 doesn't have a sensor! The detect circuit is R221 (10k 2W) D221 (1N4007) C221 (100uF 25V) and TZ221 (12V zener). Most likely is R221 o/c or C221 dried out and very low value. This lot also drives the opto IC221 (TLP131 etc) via R222 (330R). The opto is another weak point.
