jonathanhill
I have half a dozen Selecon Pacific profiles that are either the 12-28 degree or 14-35 degree zoom variants. As they seem to use the same lens tube, is there any way of telling them apart without actually measuring the beam angle?
TomHoward
We have some of the 12-28s (and 23-50s but these use a difference tube). I'll post some images of lenses etc tomorrow if that will help. Ours are identified by a sticker on the lens tube which isn't the most robust way. daemon
From memory the 12/28 is an M size gate, while the 14/35 is an A size...
lorem ipsum
These lens tubes are exactly the same except for the size of the aperture of the gate. The 14/35 has a wider opening suitable for a B size gobo, and the 12/28 is narrower, for an M size gobo. If your tubes are not in fixtures, you can pick the difference by opening the shutters and comparing the aperture at the lamp end. it's the "shutter plate mid fixed" part that makes the difference, part PACSHT037 vs PACSHT003http://www.seleconlight.com/images/stories/files/english/spareparts/pacific_12_28_lenstubeonly.pdfhttp://www.seleconlight.com/images/stories/files/english/spareparts/pacific_12_28_lenstubeonly.pdf
