Easter5053
Hey guys, so I'm looking to purchase 4 8' Steeldeck handrails, but unfortunately the biggest I can find at the minute are the 4' ones athttp://www.10outof10.co.uk/acatalog/Steeldeck.html Does anyone know of any sources that do stock 8' handrails for Steeldeck we are looking to purchase not build or hire Cheers Tony
agermich
I would suggest giving Steeldeck a call. I don't think that I have ever seen an 8' handrail, but if it isn't a stock item I'm sure that they would be happy to be fabricate them for you. the kid
The 1st pic is BAC, and we had 8ft rails, if I remember they were purchased right from steeldeck.
jonathanhill
Is there a reason that you need an 8' handrail, rather than say, 2 4' handrails, which are stock items and are available in a number of different designs? The 4' handrails are easily moved, mounted and dismounted by one person. I suspect the same to not be true of an 8' handrail.
WiLL
I would imagine it's just for the aesthetics, but also if I recall correctly, 2 of the 4 foot ones together would have a slight gap of an inch or so between them.
Easter5053
Thanks for the responses. It is an aesthetic thing. And it does look like a call to steel deck is the only option.
Giles Favell
I think you may find that it's not possible to get an 8' rail (unless it's 2x 4ft joined together) as calculations showed that at 8ft long rail wouldn't meet any meaningful loading requirements at all - hence 4ft being the longest.
