I have 9 late model mac 250 wash (with beam kit conversion) on two of my lamps I am getting and Aura or Corona that I can not seem to get rid of. It does not seem to be lamp focus or any sticking gobos. any help or tips would be appreciated. Bill

Ynot
I suspect that this is not something you can get rid of. When I last had some 250s with the beam conversion kit, I found the same problem - they were fine for creating the actual beams but point them AT anything and the colour mix left something to be desired. It's down to the fact that the conversion kit is an add-on, and asking the fixture to do something it was not strictly designed for.

electrotec lighting
Could it be a lamp alignment problem....http://www.martin.com/service/downloadfile.asp?name=UM_MAC250_EN_D.PDF&cat=
Young Johnstone
That link is for a 250 +The OP is on about 250 washes with a beam kit installed! But your probably right. I find the best way to align the lamp is by firing the light through haze and looking at the beam! Your after the beam at the end of the day, not the projected image. illuminoids
thanks for the tips lads, but I actually have the manuals for the lamps. Having tried the alignment of the lamp ,(all 9 lamps on a batton in the small Theatre they were hung in getting the hot spots adjusted on all of them) after I struck out I Went to this site hoping that some one had seen this problem before. I have the impression it is mor mechanical in nature such as a shadow from something inside the housing, thanks any way regards Illuminoids
illuminoids
thanks for theanswers. my situation is solved. on the 2 beam units the plastic lens in the add lens on was reversed with striated side inside nearest the lamp as opposed to on the outside away from the lens. have a nice day.
