Mr Steve
Hello, I want to make some donuts with some blackwrap to sharpen up some gobos. I have read on here that the hole should be 2/3 to 80% the size of the front lens. Is it trial and error with an aperture around that size or Is there a rule? The profiles projecting the gobos will be Strand Brios.
adam2
Trial and error and personal preference. The smaller the hole, the sharper the image, but a smaller hole wastes more light and makes the image dimmer.

LXbydesign
Id say usually the circumference size of a tennis ball works for most applications. Or for 6 inch holders, a ping-pong ball size.
