mefju Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Hello! On the stage I have about 6 different video sources (DVD Player, Video player, 4xCCTV camera), and 4 different video receivers (2x TV, 2x video beamer). How can I freely route video signal between sources and receivers? Regular video mixer (like Panasonic AV-55) has only 1 output so it is not an option. I can use 4 daisy chained CCTV switchers (one per receiver) like this: http://www.directlvs.com/Switcher/Direct/Specs/ds8ch.htm http://www.directlvs.com/Switcher/PhilipsS/Specs/phisw.htm but I will spend all day wiring - I will need 3x6 cables only to wire switchers, and I don't know nothing about quality of signal at the last switcher (anyway I don't need broadcast quality). Is there anything dedicated for this kind of work?
James Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 yes, what you want is a matrix. they are made by probel, kramer, quartz to name a few. you sound like you need an 6 x 4 switcher but it would make sense to get one bigger than you need for expansion. This is an 8x8 from kramer
bruce Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Sounds like you need some sort of matrix switcher - the ones I've used are by Kramer, but there are others. Bruce. Edit: James beat me to it...
bruce Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 ....and there's currently what looks like an 8x8 one (composite video + stereo audio) on ebay, 12 quid with 5 days to go... It'll go for slightly more than that.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=7501017952 Bruce.
